    Responsibilities

    We are looking for a strategic leader to drive consumer revenue through digital subscriptions while in order to maximize the value of our audiences that consume our high- quality local content. The successful candidate is a data-driven marketer with proven experience in content/subscription-based e-commerce businesses.     The Digital Subscriptions Director develops and executes strategies surrounding: Content, Marketing, and E-Commerce. This includes client acquisition, retention, pricing, lead generation, and pipeline management of full department. 

     

    • Responsible for overall strategy and marketing initiatives to drive new subscriber acquisition and retention
    • Develop and manage budget to deliver on company revenue and profit targets
    • Use of data and empirical evidence to drive business decisions.
    • Develops and implements strategic marketing plans and sales plans and forecasts to achieve corporate objectives for products and services, including daily business results related subscription sales.
    • Ensures effective control of department results, and takes corrective action to guarantee that achievement of objectives fall within designated budgets
    • Develop, implement and optimize multi-channel digital and offline media campaigns across paid, owned and operated and earned media
    • Work closely with the product and technology and content teams to align strategy with customer experience and product value to improve conversion and retention rates
    • Define, measure and report on KPIs to organizational stakeholders and executive leadership to ensure business objectives are performing to plan
    • Leverage audience insights and data to drive strategy and business decisions
    • Work closely with internal digital agency to successfully implement digital paid media strategies.
    • Develop strong A/B testing roadmap in conjunction with key stakeholders and internal partners to evolve strategy and performance
    • Direct creation of subscription marketing materials across all channels and owned platforms to ensure consistent strong branding
    • Understand and continuously focus on consumer, marketing, technology and ecommerce trends as it relates to digital subscriptions
    • Oversees and evaluates market research and adjusts marketing strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
    • Monitors other media companies’ products, sales and marketing activities to stay on top of industry best practices
    • Develops and grows strong relationships with key strategic partners to drive innovation, new revenue channels and industry leading performance.
    • Guides preparation of marketing activity reports and presents to executive management.
    • Directs staffing, training, and performance management to develop and control sales and marketing programs.
    • Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent number of years of experience 
    • Five (5) years of related experience with progressive management experience
    • MBA and ten (10) years of related experience with progressive management experience preferred
    • Strong business acumen with experiencing managing full P&L
    • Deep understanding of digital content, marketing, ecommerce platforms & technologies
    • Strong collaboration/partnership skills needed to work and drive results within a fast paced matrix environment
    • Strong leader with ability to hire, grow and retain top talent
    • Understanding and proven experience with customer data platforms, Google Analytics and other audience analytics platforms
    • Strong communication and presentation skills
    • Hands-on leader that is results driven
    • Advanced analytical and problem solving skills
    • Ability to travel 25-30%
