    Responsibilities

    The Denver Post is seeking a Director of Ad Sales (Real Estate, Automotive and Recruitment) to lead our revenue-generating efforts in these categories. In coordination with senior management, Director of Ad Sales designs and executes the sales plan for the department and has ultimate accountability for the sales team which drives our success. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, a collaborative spirit, and demonstrates strong leadership qualities that inspire and motivate the sales team.

     

    • Coach an experienced team of account executives in the field and on calls.  Lead by example in selling according to The Denver Post’s integrated, audience-centric sales model.
    • Set individual sales performance goals, and working with the staff to ensure all facets of the sales process are practiced effectively to attain those goals.
    • Identify areas of opportunity to drive Classified sales (and revenue) using the Denver Post’s existing product suite, and work collaboratively to create new products and services to meet the Classified industry’s evolving needs.
    • Use sales, financial, and market data to inform and evolve our ongoing sales plans.
    • Maintain a superior level of customer relations, and work to resolve issues through personal action and by collaborating with other departments at The Denver Post.
    • Being an advocate for the “Classified Community” within The Denver Post, and being an advocate for the Denver Post among the Classified Community.

     

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor degree in marketing, communications, advertising or related field
    • 10+ years in sales dealing with major accounts and 3+ years in a sales management role with direct reports
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects at one time is a must
    • Intimate knowledge of the Classified Advertising industry is essential
    • A high degree of proficiency with digital advertising products is also essential
