    Responsibilities

    Graphic Designner responsibilities include:

    • Managing the creative process from concept to final camera-ready execution of custom content one-sheets, special sections ranging from 4 to 24 pages and custom magazines
    • Including initial design and presentation of ideas to internal and external clients, design and layout of each custom campaign (digital and presentation skills helpful)
    • Production of aesthetically pleasing and eye-catching layouts with minimal direction, handling a heavy workload and delivering technically accurate pre-press files for prin.
    • Working with the members of the Custom Content team, but also be able to work with a broad range of personnel across the company as well as outside customers

    Projects can vary daily, so the designer must be able to efficiently and effectively manage their work schedule and switch priorities over to different tasks seamlessly, in order to deliver to the required, tight, time-sensitive deadlines.  some essential functions of this role include: 

    • Layout and design of weekly print sections, monthly print sections and special “one time” print projects   
    • Working with internal project managers and external clients, collect all assets needed (such as text copy, graphics and photos) to successfully layout each product to client’s exacting specifications
    • Communicate closely with clients, project managers and account executives to quickly make changes and deliver new digital proofs, working through several rounds of revisions and securing written approvals before sending to press
    • Work closely with project managers and pressroom managers to deliver camera-ready pages to spec and ensure printing managers have all materials needed required to print on deadline
    • Transfer of print assets to digital project managers and creation of custom digital design elements as needed

    Qualifications

    Education & Experience: 

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design or equivalent
    • Minimum 5 years-experience in print production on Mac platform
    • Print production experience working with print facilities is essential
    • Experience designing editorial sections and publications

    Required Technical Skills:

    • Adobe Suite including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat
    • Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
    • Google Suite

    Skills & Abilities:

    • Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure
    • A strong aesthetic sense; highly organized with excellent attention to detail; and strong presentation skills
    • The ideal candidate is a self-starter, with a strong work ethic, who can perform at a high-level, handle multiple assignments, and possesses strong time management skills
    • Can professionally receive creative direction and critical feedback from Custom Content staff and external clients
    • Strong work ethic, performing original and templated design at a high level
    • Superior attention to detail, even at a fast pace
    • Exceptional organizational skills
    • Ability to brainstorm new ideas for future campaign efforts
    • Managing of work in progress, organizing creative folders and assets, backing up work
    • Self-Driven and accountable; able to produce quality work with limited supervision
    • Must possess a love of design and take pride in their work
    • Excellent communication skills and a willingness to collaborate with team members and interdepartmentally is key
