    Overall Duties and Responsibilities

    Maintain excellent customer service while assuring accurate and timely delivery of paid newspapers and alternate products to subscribers and non-subscribers.


    Daily Functions Include but not limited to


    1. Supervise distribution of newspapers within assigned district and maintain high customer service standards while working closely with independent contracts and customer service representatives.
    2. Keep carrier contracts up to date and contract new carriers as needed.
    3. Service customer complaints within an assigned district and verify deliveries as needed.
    4. Deliver down routes as needed.
    5. Oversee newspaper distribution to district bundle drop locations and assist drivers.
    6. Provide route and product orientation for new carriers.
    7. Resolve customer service issues and communicate service complaints to carriers.
    8. Deliver newspaper bundles and alternate products to specific locations.
    9. Market newspaper within assign district to increase the number of paid subscribers.
    10.         Perform all other duties as required by management.




    Physical Demands/Qualifications


    1. Requires the ability to stand, sit, and/or walk for extended periods of time during the shift.
    2. Requires mobility (including but not limited to walking, bending, squatting, crouching, twisting, kneeling, reaching, etc.) throughout shift for adequate fulfillment of daily functions.
    3. Requires the ability to drive an automobile or truck in a variety of terrains and at a variety of different times of the day or night.
    4. Hearing sufficient to understand conversations over loud machinery.
    5. Vision of a sufficient quality to be able to drive, observe surrounding conditions and work at a computer terminal.
    6. Requires mental alertness sufficient to recognize problems and potential problems and take appropriate action.





    Non-Physical Demands/Qualifications


    1. Follow existing policies and procedures to ensure the highest level of customer service.
    2. Communicate clearly and convincingly.
    3. Adequately represent the Times Standard when in contact with customers, both on the phone

           and in person.

    1. Provide proof of a valid California Operator's license, insurance, and safe driving record.
    2. Work well independently and in team situations and exhibit good common sense.
    3. Ability to work effectively on a computer (Word, Excel, E-mail, Circulation System).
